Santanyi
"un poble com mai"
"A village like no other" - that's the motto of this traditional and rustic place.
Santanyi is probably one of the most famous living-places of Majorca. Including Santanyi, Calonge, S’Alqueria Blanca, El Llombards, and the coastal annexes Cala D’Or, Portopetro, Cala Figuera, Cala Santanyi and Cala Llombards, you find a wide variety of nice spots.
Santanyi has a coast-line of about 35 kilometres; there is a lot of smaller and larger sandy and rocky spots, that even in high season you never get the feeling of overcrowded beaches. Picturesque bays as Cala Figuera, Cala Llombards and Cala S’Almunia have been discovered already some time ago by TV- and movie makers. Cala Mondrago, the smaller neighbour of S’Amarador, is a wind safe sandy beach, directly in the natural park.
The popular weekly markets – especially that one in Santanyi – invite you with their stands of fruits, vegetables and “things” and their coffee shops for people watching and “to be seen”. The marina of Cala D’Or is the deepest harbour of the southeast; so there is enough space for bigger yachts, exclusivity and luxury.
In case, you prefer more typical, authentic places, you will enjoy the harbours of Portopetro and Cala Figuera. Between the different spots, there is a fine network of paths for pedestrians, horse- and bicycle-riders. Golfers will find a 18-hole-country-club with astonishing views in Vall d’Or.
